The mop head is in a fixed position relative to the stick. The user can step on the head when it is flat on the floor, gently pull the stick in one direction, and unlock the mop head which can then swivel freely.
When the mop head is dirty, just step on the head again gently and re-engage the locking mechanism to lock the stick in place to be able to rinse the head in the rinsing mechanism inside the bucket.
